Pastoral Care at Foyle College

The unique and celebrated atmosphere in Foyle College is created by a Pastoral Care system that places our pupils at the centre of everything we do.  Positive relationships are built on the rapport that exists between the pupils and the staff who care, support, develop and challenge them to achieve their full potential in a fair and consistent environment.  Our strong pastoral system commences with pupils benefitting from the care of a specialist Head of Year 8, Mrs McShane. 

Our child-centred pastoral care strives to break down the barriers to learning by putting in place programmes and support which ultimately help your child with their academic, social and emotional wellbeing. We recognise that parental interest and involvement helps our pupils to succeed and that the way to inspire them is to work together collaboratively. We believe that the most important partnership is between our pupils, the school and parents.

Whilst the primary responsibility for the care and welfare of pupils rests with the Board of Governors, through the Principal, we recognise that all staff share this responsibility and we do everything possible to support them in this role.
