Investing in every child’s future

We are Foyle College’s PTFA, and we play an important part in our school, raising funds and organising events that our children can take part in and benefit from.

Create more visibility-Support Foyle College

Create more visibility around the purpose and activity associated with the PTFA.Provide our audiences with a vehicle to further support Foyle College.

Raise funding - Values via the PTFA

Raise funding on behalf of Foyle College.Demonstrate how Foyle College fulfils its values via the PTFA. 

The money raised from all the fundraising efforts goes towards our school and our children’s education, health and wellbeing.


Cathie McMinn (Chair)

Cathie is the Chair of Foyle College PTFA with the purpose of raising funds to provide items/ services which enhance student and staff life. Cathie is andhasbeen a Director of a number of businesses, third sector organisations and educational establishments and is an acting adviser to the UN. 

Cathie is a mother, and her third child is nearing the end of her time at Foyle College. She encourages as many people as possible to consider joining and supporting the PTFA.

Siobhan Harrison (Vice Chair)

Siobhan is the Vice Chair of the PTFA, coming on board when her son joined Foyle College in 2021. Siobhan’s main interest is to ensure we raise funds that benefits our whole school community. Siobhan is passionate about inclusivity for all students, whether that be academically, through sports or looking after their mental health. 

Siobhan works in marketing and advertising. She is the Mum of 2 boys. In her spare time, you can find her on the side-lines supporting her son’s football teams. She also loves to travel and walk her dog.

Karen Murphy (Secretary)  

Karen works as a specialist Occupational Therapist, with her own business. She is mother to 3 boys, 2 of whom attend Foyle College.  

Karen is passionate about physical engagement of young people for their physical and mental health, and their interaction with their community.  In her spare time loves to travel, lift heavy weights, and chat!

Cristina Ichmescu (Deputy Secretary)

Cristina is the PTFA’s Deputy Secretary. Cristina has been working in education since 2004. She volunteered for various organisations, both in NI and abroad. Cristina was as a volunteer with refugees and displaced people in ex-Yugoslavia and Ireland.

Cristina has also volunteered with the North West Migrants Forum.  

Viji Puliyur-Doherty (Treasurer)

Viji was born in India, graduated as a Textile Technologist. She worked for over 20 years in the field of Textiles and Fashion with companies like Galleries Lafayette, De Bijenkorf and Tommy Hilfiger, culminating as Head of Nike Inc. Merchandising, South Asia.

 Viji married and moved to Derry in 2006. She is currently HR & Finance Manager at Wafer Enterprises Ltd, manufacturers of ice cream cones and confectionery.

 Jennifer Neff (Communications)

Jennifer is in charge of communications for the PTFA. She is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Access Elemental, an award winning tech for good company. Jennifer is the overall winner Digital Leaders 100, Tech Nation Rising Stars 3.0 winner and Entrepreneur of the Year Women in Tech Excellence.

Jennifer is passionate about promoting and creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and social innovation amongst our young people. Jennifer has 2 children at Foyle College.

Foyle PTFA Sports-Works (Health l/land Well-being Sports Initiative):

Rugby physio pre-booked sessions, Rugby strengthening and conditioning coaches/sessions, Trainer for “Fair Play Cricket” academies, Trainer for “Chance to Shine” Hockey Academies,

Coaching for Cardio Tennis, Trainer for All-Star Netball” Yoga, bounce, rowing tasters and Pilates instructors ,Titan video camera and tripod, Bowling machine  


However, it’s not just about fundraising; it is also about building a sense of school community between parents, pupils and staff as well as providing our children with some well-deserved social and fun times.
